*Caraway Seed
We love how caraway is used in a customers bread recipe. Nathan brings staff members fresh made caraway and fennel, and (often still warm bread) almost every morning. – Try adding a hint of caraway and currents in your soda scones.
Caraway has been used traditionally as a remedy for menstrual cramps, poor appetite, bronchitis, and laryngitis.1 The British Herbal Pharmacopoeia states that it can be used to promote milk excretion and to treat flatulence in colicky children. Therapeutic properties include antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, astringent, calmative, digestive, expectorant, nervine, pectoral, and vermifuge.1,3 Caraway seeds, extracts, and oils can be found in carminative, laxative, and stomachic preparations. 1Lawless J.
