Cardamom Seed Decorticated bulk ORG – Elettaria cardamomum – Organic

A member of the ginger family. The fruits grow within a pod. Cardamom has a rich history dating back thousands of years and is so very fragrant! Use in breads, meats, chai, curries and coffee, beer and, as a syrup.  Traditionally used as a digestive aid as well as in perfumery.  We lightly roast ours in an iron pan before adding to our curry dishes.

Interesting note: Cows in India are often adorned with beads made from cardamom pods as a head neck ornament.  Years ago a coffee seller from India gifted one of these head to Peter, staff member and 4^th generation coffee and spice master roaster.  Its beautiful.                                          4 oz.  – 23.50
